Until her demise on Saturday morning, sixty-two-year-old Madam was a community health nurse at the Nima Polyclinic in Accra. News of Ebony's passing has left me devastated.  Such a young, promising life cut short by a road accident. I recall my recent encounter with her at  Peace FM and I was surprised by the aura of calmness she carried ; a sharp contrast to the exuberance that accompanied her stage performances. 21 years of age, how sad. This painful loss is yet another reason why we should, as a Nation,face this 'monster' of road accidents with all seriousness. We can't continue to lose lives in this manner. I am sad and pray her soul finds rest with her Maker.

The fights started three days ago when some youth from the Zongo community joined another group in the Asante community who were mourning a dead sister. The joint military and police team have been deployed to help bring peace to the area as there were series of reprisal attacks from both sides this morning. Several are reported injured in the violent clashes between Muslim youth and some youths in the town over a misunderstanding between the two youth group.
